Imperfect Vase

Imperfect Action

May 01, 20253 min read

Let me start with this:

This blog post? It almost didn’t get written.

Why? Because it was already a day late. Because my calendar was full. Because my kid was yelling in the background. Because my lighting was off, my to-do list was long, and honestly... because it wasn’t perfect.

But that right there is the point.

Sometimes, we need to show up anyway.

This week I shared a quick video online — a behind-the-scenes B-roll moment that was just supposed to be exactly that... B-roll.

My 5-year-old was the cameraman. My desk was cluttered. I was mumbling fake sentences to make it look like I was saying something insightful.

It wasn’t polished. It wasn’t scheduled. It wasn’t planned.

BUT, I had nothing else to post, so...

I posted it anyway — not because it was flawless, but because it was real.

And if you’re a business owner, entrepreneur, or personal brand builder, you need to hear this:

You don’t need more polish. You need more presence.

Done > Perfect. Always.

Too many brilliant ideas are sitting in Google Docs and Notes apps, waiting to be "just right."

Meanwhile, your audience is scrolling past someone else’s half-baked but published post — because they had the guts to hit publish.

Here’s the truth: You can’t get feedback on what you didn’t share.

You can’t grow the thing you’re too afraid to launch.

You can’t build momentum on the back of perfectionism.

3 Tiny Shifts to Help You Take More Imperfect Action

1. Replace “It has to be perfect” with “It has to be helpful.”
Shift your focus from how it looks to who it helps. Ask: "Does this solve a problem for my people?" If yes — it’s ready enough.

2. Set time caps, not endless drafts.
Give yourself 30 minutes to write the post, film the video, or plan the offer. Once the time is up — ship it.

3. Use the “Post-It Test.”
Would this thought or idea help someone if it was scribbled on a Post-It and handed to them today? Then post it.

Takeaway Tools: Plan Without Paralysis

Need structure to make showing up easier? Here are some of my go-to tools:

  • Notion – Your second brain for content, clients, and clarity.

  • ClickUp – Powerful for team workflows and visibility.

  • Sunsama – For mindful, day-by-day planning.

  • Motion – It auto-plans your tasks into your calendar for you.

  • Trello – The ultimate visual planner for creative thinkers.

Pick one. Get in. Stay consistent.

Want to Know What to DO to Attract Customers?

One of the biggest blocks I see in clients (and feel myself) is this: "I want to show up, but I don’t know what will actually bring in leads."

That’s exactly why I created this:

🛠️ The “3 Fastest Ways to Attract Your Next Customer Online” Cheat Sheet

This isn’t theory — it’s a short, punchy PDF packed with:

  • ✅ The 3 post types I use that consistently get clicks, DMs, and enquiries

  • ✅ Plug-and-play prompts you can personalise for your niche

  • ✅ My 3-part “value stack” framework to turn views into action

Think of it like a mini content engine — built for clarity, speed, and results.

Use it next time you're staring at a blinking cursor, second-guessing if your post is "good enough."

My Challenge to You:

Post the thing. Launch the idea. Send the email late if you need to — but send it.

Your people aren’t waiting for perfect. They’re waiting for you.

Show up. Share the story. Build something real.

Keep building, imperfectly.
